Hayling Island lifeboat deployed after windsurfer gets into difficulties

LIFEBOAT crews were launched after reports of a windsurfer getting into difficulties.

Hayling Island lifeboat and the Coastguard Rescue team were deployed but by the time they arrived at the scene the man had managed to get himself ashore.

The casualty was assessed at the scene and an ambulance was called but the man did not need any further medical assistance.

The rescue call arrived at 6.30pm this evening (October 24).
