Large search operation launched after clothing found on Sussex beach

A LARGE search operation was launched this morning after clothing was discovered on a Sussex beach.

Police, lifeboat crews, the Coastguard and helicopter were alerted to the discovery at Hove beach at 9.30am.

A full search was undertaken, Shoreham Coastguard said on Twitter, but nothing was found.

Maritime and Coastguard Agency said: ‘There was a search this morning following some items of clothing being found on the beach, however the search has now been stood down with nothing found.’
