Lifeboat teams scrambled to assist fishing trip trapped on shoreline in Gosport

LIFEBOAT crews have been mobilised to assist three people on a fishing trip who have become cut-off by rising tides along the Gosport shoreline.

A boat from Hill Head Coastguard Rescue Team and a team from Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service were dispatched at 8.30pm.

The teams have been called to assist three people fishing along the shoreline of Burrow Island, overlooking Royal Clarence Marina, in Gosport.

A spokesman for HM Coastguard said: ‘The crews are still dealing with the ongoing incident.’
