Mum and 11-year-old daughter left with 'serious injuries' in Havant after car reverses off driveway

A MUM and her daughter have been left seriously injured after being involved in a collision with a car.

The 43-year-old and 11-year-old have ‘serious but not life-threatening injuries’ after a silver Kia hit them when reversing off a driveway on Petersfield Road in Havant.

Three ambulances were sent to the scene and both were taken to University Hospital Southampton.

Police have not made any arrests but officers are continuing their enquiries.

A police spokesman said: ‘We can confirm that officers were called out to an incident at 1.51pm on Thursday, December 17 following reports of a single-vehicle collision on Petersfield Road.

‘A silver Kia collided with two pedestrians after reversing off a driveway.

‘A 43-year-old woman and a 11-year-old girl suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

‘No arrests have been made as of yet as police enquiries continue.’

A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said: ‘ We received a 999 call at 13:46 with the caller reporting a collision between a car and two pedestrians at the junction of Wakefords Way and Petersfield Road.

We sent three ambulances to the incident; the pedestrians were a 43-year-old female and her 11-year-old daughter who had sustained suspected serious injuries and following initial treatment at the scene, were taken to University Hospital Southampton.
