As spring approaches and we all think about our favourite parts of Gosport to visit, I thought I would share a few of my top beauty spots.

Stokes Bay is magnificent, giving an ever-changing blank canvas of views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight.

A nature reserve exists on a section of the beach with rare plants and bird life.

As dog walkers are advised not to walk along the beach between April 1 and September 1, there are plenty of designated areas well signposted for dogs to explore.

Stanley Park is nearby with extensive grounds to enjoy. Families gather for picnics and gentle sporting activities.

The Alverbank Hotel is located within the park for refreshments.

Walpole Park with real swans gracefully swimming is majestic to watch.

A model boating lake with play parks nearby is situated near to the High Street.

As Gosport is a peninsula, at the end of the High Street is The Falkland Gardens.

Here is the window to Portsmouth Harbour with stunning views of historical and modern day life.

HMS Warrior is overlooked by the giant Spinnaker Tower, where a birdseye view of the entire area can be experienced on the top floor.

Wightlink operates its ferry service around the clock to the Isle of Wight from Portsmouth to Ryde.

Or you can take your car and travel to Fishbourne on the ferry, allowing tourists and locals an even more spectacular view of the Solent.

Closer to home, the Gosport ferry operates between Portsmouth Harbour every 15 minutes.

Gunwarf Quays’ stylish shopping centre is on the Portsmouth waterfront with entertainment and eating facilities for all.

Gosport is proud of its glorious coastline and scenery and so am I.

Lee-on-the-Solent is another popular beach with a giant purpose-made children’s play area.

This once housed the local outdoor swimming pool.

There are numerous varieties of shops to cater for all tastes in food and nearby there is an amusement arcade.

And be sure to have your small change ready for the slot machines.
