North End couple finally marry after wedding postponed by lockdown
Despite the new restrictions thanks to Covid-19, the happy couple, from North End, Portsmouth, celebrated their special day with 30 of their nearest and dearest – and have absolutely no regrets.
‘Seeing Rebecca walk down the aisle, after waiting for so long and wondering if it would ever happen, was one of the highlights for me,' says Thomas, as he reminisces about his wedding on August 20.

Two years later in October 2018, Thomas got down on one knee and asked Rebecca, 25, to marry him while they were on a romantic holiday in Spain. I had asked her mum, dad and step-dad for permission before we left. Rebecca was shocked and surprised but, of course, said yes,’ says Thomas, 29.
The couple originally planned their wedding for March 26, 2020, but unfortunately Boris Johnson imposed full-lockdown on the UK on March 23.
Thomas, who works as a postman, says: ‘We got shut down four days before lockdown. Our venue was very good though and booked us in for another date in August. We thought it would be fine.
‘As it got nearer to the date, we had to whittle the guest list down to 30.

Since their wedding, the King-Barnards have enjoyed spending time together and with their new puppy, Bella.
