‘There was a fire in the second-floor bedroom. The fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, two jets and a ventilation fan.

‘A casualty was extricated from the building by firefighters and treated for smoke inhalation whilst they awaited the arrival of SCAS.

‘Community safety leaflets were handed to neighbours and the stop message came in at 02.53am.’

The exact cause of the fire is not known at this time, but Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service is not treating the incident as suspicious.

In an emergency, always dial 999.
