The Loft Aesthetics launches permanent makeup training academy in new space in Emsworth
A PERMANENT makeup artist with more than 25 qualifications has created 11 courses for her academy.
Kerry Welstead, 38, from Portsmouth, started The Loft Aesthetics in 2016 offering permanent makeup, skincare and beauty treatments – including microblading, permanent eyeliner, scalp micropigmentation, fat dissolving injections, lash lifts and facials.
Kerry said the new location is a dream come true, and a huge achievement for her after the struggles of the pandemic.
She said: ‘It’s such a beautiful building, my husband Stuart did all the work on it.
‘It was a lot of work but now I go in there and just think “wow I can’t believe I’m here”.’
Kerry said she has always been creative and believes her love for what she does has helped her get to where she is.
‘I think my creative side has definitely helped, I just feel so lucky that I've found something that I really genuinely adore,’ she said.
‘I dedicate all my time to every customer, it’s very much a 1-1 bespoke service throughout the whole process.
‘I want my clients to feel special and important and I want them to have a genuinely positive experience.’
As a self-proclaimed ‘geek’, Kerry loves expanding her knowledge and to date has completed more than 25 training courses.
Throughout lockdown she took the opportunity to complete her teacher training and has now launched her own training academy, offering 11 accredited courses, and masterclasses.
She said: ‘I’ve got a few students booked in for the new year already and that’s my goal, to continue with the business being nice and busy and look after my existing clients, but also for the academy to grow and have people come in for the training side of things.’
Taking place in small groups or one on one, Kerry offers beginner and advanced training in permanent makeup, microblading, dermaplaning, lashes, brows and more.
Kerry welcomed her sister, Vicky Meech, 40, to the business in October. She offers skincare treatments under her own brand EnviSkin.
Kerry said working with her sister is a ‘childhood dream come true’.
