PICTURES: Do you remember when Prince Philip visited Portsmouth?
Prince Philip will step down from royal engagements at the end of this year, so we've had a look back at when he has visited our great city.
The 95-year-old has taken the decision with the support of the Queen, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
A statement said: ‘The Duke of Edinburgh is Patron, President or a member of over 780 organisations, with which he will continue to be associated, although he will no longer play an active role by attending engagements.
‘Her Majesty will continue to carry out a full programme of official engagements with the support of members of the Royal Family.’
The prince has visited Portsmouth many times during his life, including in recent years.
In November 2013 he made a surprise visit to the Mary Rose Museum for a private tour.
He also visited the National Museum of the Royal Navy in his role as Lord High Admiral.
Last year he marked the 20th anniversary of the Royal Marines School of Music with a tour of the school.
