Police and fire crews rescue woman from multi-storey car park in Fareham town centre after concern for welfare call

POLICE and fire crews were called to locate a woman in Fareham town centre after calls of concern about her welfare this weekend.

Police officers and firefighters from stations in Fareham, Cosham, and Southsea were mobilised to Osborn Road, Fareham, after an emergency call was made just before 12:30pm on Sunday.

Parts of Obsborn Road were cordoned off while officers worked to locate a woman believed to be in distress.

A spokesman from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘Officers investigating a concern for the welfare of a woman attended Osborn Road.

‘I can confirm that the woman was located on the roof of a multi-storey car park and she is now in the care of the appropriate services.’
