'Police incident' closes A3(M) near Waterlooville as traffic builds on roads in Portsmouth and Havant

Two lanes of the northbound A3(M) have been closed by police, the AA has reported.

The incident is taking place close to Junction 4, Purbrook Way, Purbrook.

It started shortly after 2pm. Police have been approached by The News but have yet to have confirmed what is happening.

Traffic is already building, with congestion spreading into Waterlooville.

A travel bulletin on the AA said: ‘Reports of two lanes closed and queuing traffic due to police incident on A3(M) Northbound at J4 Purbrook Way (Purbrook). Congestion to A3(M) J5. Lane one and two (of three) is closed. Affecting traffic heading towards Waterlooville.’
