Driver flees as BMW crashes through wall of Gosport cancer charity's HQ

The silver £30,000 BMW 3 Series mounted the pavement before smashing through the brick wall surrounding the Harbour Cancer Support site in Stoke Road, Gosport.
Police were called to the scene but the occupants of the car had already fled.

Hide AdMatt Sykes, who lives in nearby Jamaica Place, heard the crash and spotted a man in a dark hooded jumper fleeing the scene.
He said: ‘We heard, and felt, the crash… As soon as it happened we looked out of the window. Our flat was too far down to see the vehicle, however, I did see one male wearing a black hooded top, running from the scene.
‘I obviously went outside to investigate further and found the car abandoned.’
Hampshire police said officers were now investigating the collision amid claims the vehicle may have been stolen.

Hide AdA spokesman added: ‘We were called just after 10pm to a report of a BMW 320D colliding with a building in Stoke Road, Gosport. Officers attended but the occupants of the vehicle had fled the scene before we arrived. Enquiries are ongoing.’

The incident left a huge hole in the side of the house.
Police arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of drink driving and driving a motor vehicle dangerously, and theft of a motor vehicle.
He has been released under investigation.
