The peregrine, photographed by Mark Cox, is thought to have arrived in the past few days.

The Rev Allie Kerr said the bird has created a buzz.

She said: ‘Everyone at the church thinks this is absolutely amazing.

‘As Christians we’re huge advocates of protecting our environment – so there’s a real sense of hope around the falcon’s arrival.

‘It’s the first time I’ve seen one so it’s exciting.’

The church will talk to the RSPB to see what can be done to help the bird.
