Nadine Hill, 37, was on Channel 5’s Rich House, Poor House last April with entrepreneurs Paul Bates and his wife Katy.

The couple and Nadine swapped homes and lifestyles for a week - with the Fratton mum dining out on lobster and champagne while being given the £1,800 a week disposable income Paul and Katy were accustomed to, while the millionaires got just £86.

With Nadine hitting it off with the couple - and having an immediate ‘spiritual connection’ with Katy - the millionaires decided to step in and help the struggling former shoe shop manager.

Nadine was handed £17,000 by the couple, who run a permanent makeup training academy, for makeup training during the past year. It meant in December she was able to open her new clinic at Antique Salon in Portsmouth Road, Cosham.

But Nadine was also handed another gift by the couple - a £2,000 website.

Appearing on the follow-up show Rich House, Poor House Changed My Life on Channel 5 at 9pm tonight, the makeup artist was given the website portsmouthpermanentmakeup.co.uk by Katy and Paul in a ‘surprise’ move during filming in January.

Nadine said: ‘I wasn’t expecting it. I’m so overwhelmed that people can be so kind and not expect anything in return apart from asking me to work hard.

‘I can’t thank them enough for everything they have done for me. They have changed my financial situation, my whole wellbeing and outlook on life.

‘I was in a lot of debt before which I’ve now paid off and have moved house.

‘I didn’t go on the show for a handout, I went on it to get some ideas and tips from successful people that I could take away and use. I needed business and marketing advice and Paul is very good at marketing while Katy is a very artistic trainer.

‘There was no obligation for them to do anything. It is amazing what has happened.’

Speaking of her special relationship with Katy, Nadine said: ‘I just think what were the chances of me getting on that show? And what were the chances of me meeting such selfless people.

‘Then I have a spiritual connection with Katy. She had the same books as me at her house, including ‘The Secret’, which is all about the law of attraction. She’s really into it. We’re now very good friends.’

Nadine’s training has given her the tools to deliver permanent eyeliner and eyebrows to customers to help them look and feel better.

Once her training is complete she will also be able to perform tattoo blush on lips and authentic reconstruction nipple tattoos for breast cancer sufferers.

‘Katy does (reconstruction nipples) for free to cancer patients which is something I want to do when I’m trained,’ Nadine said.

‘I want to give back as much as possible.

‘I also do eyebrows for cancer patients who have lost their hair once a month.’
