Portsmouth on Ice adds an extra hour in the day for budding skaters to enjoy

BUDDING skaters can have an extra hour at Portsmouth’s Christmas ice rink after opening times were extended.

The Portsmouth ice rink opened its doors in Guildhall Square at the end of November and was launched by the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth and the cast of Cinderella from Kings Theatre.

The ice rink has been in high demand by skaters since it opened, and the decision has been made to extend the skating day by an extra hour from December 19.

Extra morning sessions will start at 9am every day until close, adding an extra hour to the day which previously opened at 10am.

Since opening, there has been SEND skate sessions and the first DJ nights have been successful, with Lusinda and Tha 4orce putting on a Soul Train evening.

The third and final DJ Night is on New Year’s Eve, where Bonnie & Clyde and Nathan Foreal & Molly Penny will provide live music from 5.45pm.
