The Vet, in the Portsmouth Retail Park, Binnacle Way, is teaming up with charity Pompey in the Community to provide the free service.
Pompey Pets to the Vets will run its first trial on Friday 30 November, with pickups starting at 9am.Â
Clare Chapman, business manager at The Vet, said: 'We do things differently to help more animals and their humans enjoy life together, and that means helping owners get to a clinic for access to care.Â
'By teaming up with Pompey in the Community we can offer this free service which we hope will make life a little easier for our pet owners.'
Pompey in the Community, the independent charity partner of Portsmouth Football Club, will use their mini-bus to transport up to six pets and their owners to and from their veterinary appointments.
Adam Lea, head of commercial marketing and operations at Pompey in the Community, said: 'We are always keen to work with local business and groups.
'It was a chance meeting '“Â our mascot, Nelson the Dog, picked up an injury playing football at the training ground and received a clean bill of health from The Vet.
'˜Since then, we've had Pompey players and their pets attend an open day at the clinic, with over 100 people turning out.'
The pet taxi service is aimed to help pets that do not travel well on public transport and owners with mobility problems.Â
The Vet offers walk-in clinics four times a week on Monday and Wednesday to Friday between 8am and 11am for registered patients.
Non-registered patients can sign up when they arrive. The branch is also open late until 9pm on Mondays and over the weekend.
The clinic opened in August this year, offering X-rays, vaccinations, nail clipping, flea and worm treatment and features two operating theatres.
