Seal washed up along Portsmouth seafront is safe, says RSPCA

A SEAL that was found by the seafront today is alive and well, according to reports.

The seal, believed to be the same one spotted in Lee-on-the-Solent and Hayling Island recently, appeared on Eastney Beach today.

The beach was closed by police and the RSPCA was called into action.

According to the RSPCA, the creature has now swum back into the sea.

The charity has advised against approaching seals along the seafront, saying it causes them distress.
