‘We performed a roof removal to extricate the driver.

‘It’s important to note he was not physically trapped – we took the roof off as a precaution, to remove him while protecting his c-spine.

‘He was taken by hospital by the South Central Ambulance Service.’

The firefighter reported that the other driver – who was uninjured – remained at the scene.
