Special thank you for NHS and frontline staff from dancers in heartfelt video montage

Heartfelt video clips of more than 50 dancers and their family members have been edited together to create a tribute of gratitude to frontline staff.

Abstract Dance and Performing Arts, which teaches around 600 students at 10 schools around the area, put together this video to give something back while the schools are closed due to coronavirus.

Principal Amber Leigh Mitchell, who collated the clips, said: ‘I know how inspirational these people are to these children, I wanted them to see their value and how much impact they’re having on the children’s lives.

‘They get the claps which is amazing but they may not see the faces of these children and how excited and happy they are.

‘I wanted all the key workers to realise how amazing they are and to give them something quite uplifting.’

The 28-year-old was inspired by family members working in the NHS, and wanted to show her appreciation for their hard work with the help of her pupils.

More than 5,500 people have watched the video on the school’s Facebook , with positive comments and feedback flooding in from key workers.

Amber said: ‘It’s really given them the boost they needed. People have said it’s made their day or brought a tear to their eye’

This video comes after the group’s efforts last week, when students from Distraction Dance Company, a branch of the school, put together footage showing them passing love hearts to each other.
