Spinnaker Chorus choir group's Children with Cancer donation

AN ALL ladies choir group has raised hundreds of pounds to support children suffering from cancer.

The city based Spinnaker Chorus has raised a total of £604 for their chosen charity, Children with Cancer UK.

Despite the restrictions of coronavirus lockdown, the group have sold CDs, held raffles and collected public donations. Before lockdown restrictions were imposed the group had already held a number singing nights, taken part in Christmas events and held bingo nights to raise the money.

Since being formed in 2004 the choir group select a different charity each year to benefit from its fundraising.

Choir member, Diana Carver, commented: ‘Cancer is a scary thing for adults let alone children. My reason for choosing the charity is so that hopefully the donation will go towards making the children feel less anxious and frightened.’
