Star Wars actor Warwick Davis hails Portsmouth dad-of-two’s Yoda haircut

Adrian Ramsden from Portsmouth was sporting a design of the Jedi Master as he headed off on a Virgin Atlantic week-long trip to Florida’s Walt Disney World Resort with a plane load of sci-fi fans.

Star Wars actor Warwick Davis, who was also on the trip, did a double take when he spotted the hairdo created by stylist Daren Terry and was so impressed he posted it to his 700,000 followers on Twitter.

Along with a picture, he tweeted: ‘Met this guy at the boarding gate... painted his head, he had... like Yoda it looked. Crazy fan, I thought. Call security, I did!’

Daren, who runs Lotus Styling in Bognor Regis, is known for his creative haircuts shaved into clients' heads.

It took seven hours to create the look for 49-year-old Adrian, who has twin girls named Kirsten and Leia - after the fictional princess from the franchise.

Adrian, who works for AMK Chauffeur Drive in Liphook, said: ‘Warwick was great fun and really friendly. He was taken aback by my hair cut and wanted a picture so he could tweet it out, which was surreal if I am honest.

‘Daren is a genius. He spent almost seven hours creating this masterpiece and believe me it went down a storm with the Americans - they loved it and kept saying “awesome!”.

‘The response was incredible and it was truly an amazing experience – one which I will never forget.’

Adrian has been touring the world with his treasured Yoda backpack, posting his adventures on Facebook and Twitter as Yoda’s World Tour.

He said: ‘I’m trying to spread some happiness, there’s too much sadness in the world.’

Actor Warwick, who is also well known for his role in Harry Potter, gave the fan a signed book on the plane.

Adrian added: ‘It was the icing on the cake, one of the highlights of my life.

‘It was nice to be out there with all the people who love Star Wars and get some excellent feedback.’
