Two women taken to hospital after Southsea kitchen fire

FIREFIGHTERS attended a Southsea house blaze in the early hours of this morning – with two women taken to hospital.

The kitchen fire in Dartmouth Mews, near Southsea Common, saw the women taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital after the kitchen fire which started at 1.20am.

Crews from Southsea Fire Station attended the incident along with an ambulance.

A spokesman for the fire station said: ‘It was a small kitchen fire caused by cooking.

‘Two females were taken to hospital as a precaution.’

Two fire appliances consisting of nine firefighters and a senior officer attended the fire.

The fire was extinguished shortly after firefighters arrived on scene.
