In 2018, James from Wickham appeared on the Channel 4 show – but after an unsuccessful date has continued his search for true love.

Now, it seems, he may have found it.

The 28-year-old went for an early Valentine's Day meal with his new girlfriend Tasha, from Gosport, this week.

James said: ‘This is the first time I have ever had a valentine and now I have found Tasha.

‘It means the whole world to me and it's changed everything – year 2020 is going to be amazing for me, I have met a lovely girl and I am so grateful.

‘My favourite thing about Tasha is that she treats me like her Prince Charming.’

The pair started talking just before Christmas, with their first date at Ask Italian in Fareham last month.

Their Valentine’s Day meal was at The Wyvern in Lee-on-the-Solent.

Tasha said: ‘When I think of love, I think of being treated like a lovely princess.

'This is our first Valentine's Day together, it's really exciting and I feel really happy inside – I have met my Prince Charming.

‘We knew straight away we got on really well; we have a lot in common.’

The pair met through Fitzroy’s Love4Life – a friendship and dating project for people with learning disabilities and autism.

The service, based in Fareham, hosts workshops and events, as well as chaperoning members on dates.

Love4Life coordinator, Hayley Ostler, said: ‘We are proud to help adults find friendship and love while reducing isolation and loneliness.

‘Supporting people at social events to find friends and on dates wouldn't be possible without an incredibly dedicated team of volunteers which we are always looking for.

‘We are so happy that James has finally found his princess in Tasha – what an incredible journey to witness and be a part of developing.

‘I wish them both a relationship full of happiness.’
