Wedding: Corey Honess and Katy Worsfold

It’s not every couple’s dream to be reminded of work at their wedding, but for Katy Worsfold and Corey Honess – who both work at Rolls Royce in Chichester – the theme was non-negotiable.

The couple met through mutual friends around five years ago, just before 23-year-old Katy started an apprenticeship at the big car company.

Soon after, she came across a job opportunity at the same place that she thought Corey might be interested in.

Four years on, and the newlyweds are both working hard in the IT and production departments at the Rolls Royce factory.

On her wedding day last month, there was only one car in Katy’s eyes that could do the honour of taking her to St Peter’s Church, Hayling Island.

Corey, 22, had his manager pick the bride up from their home in Havant, in a Rolls Royce Phantom.

Katy’s grandfather also had two vintage Rolls Royces restored, to transport the bridesmaids and the mother of the bride.

About 80 guests attended the wedding, including parents and siblings of the happy couple.

In Katy’s bouquet, mini Rolls Royce cars were planted among the flowers and jewels.

Each of the tables at the wedding were also named after different models of the brand’s cars and each guest was given a vintage car model to take home.

Corey says: ‘Katy and I agreed on the theme pretty early on. It didn’t really need thinking about.

‘We both love cars and I try and go to as many car shows across the country as Katy will let me.’

The bride’s parents found a Spirit of Ecstasy, the iconic ornament that sits on all Rolls Royce bonnets. It was placed as the centerpiece on the couple’s table as a surprise on the day.

Following the ceremony, Katy and Corey went to Fort Nelson along with their guests, where they marked their special day by firing the fort’s 110 pound gun. Another surprise was in store for Katy as she arrived at the fort, where she was greeted by the sound of a choir. The bride burst into tears as she realised it was her brother Jack’s choir, singing acapella.

Katy says: ‘They were amazing. One of my favourite parts of the day was when I got to join in with their singing.

‘Everything went perfectly and I was surrounded by the people I love.’

The couple are currently on their honeymoon in Majorca, which was a wedding gift from Katy’s grandparents.
