Carole Day started playing in August last year and her husband Bill followed a few months later in November.
When PO7 8QB was drawn as a winning postcode for the £25,000 Saturday Street Prize for June 11, they couldn’t believe their luck.

Hide AdPeople’s Postcode Lottery Ambassador Jeff Brazier tuned up at their door with not one, but two, gold envelopes.
Carole said: ‘It was such a surprise and a very welcome one.
‘Jeff started pulling the cheque out of the gold envelop. First we saw a two, then a five, followed by more and more zeros.
‘I was on cloud nine. Then he brought out another cheque for Bill!
‘We were both completely dumbfounded with our luck.

Hide Ad‘It hasn’t quick sunk in yet that we’ve won a life-changing amount of money. It will take some time for it to sink in.
‘You are raising money for charities as well which makes it all the better.
‘We’ve only been playing since last year – now we’ve won £25,000 each.’
Julie Royston-Ford also found herself £25,000 richer when Jeff visited Kassel Close.

Hide AdJulie said: ‘I was in pure shock. I had no idea that I’d won £25,000.
‘I’ve only been playing since November and I never win anything, so this was a real surprise.
‘We are going to treat our children and we’ve lived in our house for 25 years – so we’ll probably put in some new windows – use our winnings practically.’
Mr Brazier, said: ‘I hope they have a lovely time celebrating their winnings. Julie was an absolute star and her reaction when I pulled out her £25,000 cheque will be unforgettable.’
