While travelling is out of the question, a team of dedicated volunteers is working hard to run, walk or cycle the circumference of the earth.

This huge challenge, a combined effort from 42 people aiming to complete 24,901 miles, is the latest fundraising campaign by Whiteley-based charity the Eight Foundation.

‘The work that the Eight Foundation does in our community changes lives, I’ve seen it and I know how much it has really helped individuals and local charities.

‘They need help so they can continue this work , therefore I am very passionate about completing this challenge even if my body is saying no more!’

Husband Tom Grimes added: ‘During lockdown this has been a great way to raise money for the Eight Foundation, as well as doing something positive with my time.

‘It has got me back out on my bike and focusing on a challenge that will raise money for this amazing charity, who are unable to fundraise in their normal way.’

Olivia, who hears about the foundation’s work through mum Victoria, said: ‘I'm really excited to see where and what the money we raise from this challenge will go towards.

‘This is what is keeping me going, knowing that we will be changing someone's life.’
