Woman rescued from the water as emergency services attend late-night drama at Gosport Marina

A WOMAN had to be rescued from the water at Gosport Marina late on Saturday night.

Fire crews from Gosport were called at 11.30pm after receiving reports of a woman in difficulty in the water. A lifeboat from Gosport was also sent along with coastguard teams from Hill Head and Portsmouth.

By the time the emergency services arrived on the scene the woman was already being helped from the water by a man.

Having spent 15 minutes in the sea the woman was passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.

During the incident, firefighters also took the ignition keys to a rib boat off two men who were planning on sailing back to the Isle of Wight.

The keys were passed on to the police were also called to the incident at 11.44pm. The police have confirmed that the keys were later returned to the men.
