Woman suffers smoke inhalation after 4am oven fire at Portsmouth home

A WOMAN has been treated by emergency services after smoke filled a kitchen in an oven fire.

Firefighters were called to Monmouth Road in North End, Portsmouth, at 4.20am today after an oven fire broke out in the property.

Crews from Southsea and Cosham fire stations attended the incident, using a hose reel to put out the blaze.

A woman from inside the property was given first aid on the scene, as firefighters treated her for smoke inhalation.

She was subsequently passed over to South Central Ambulance Service for further treatment – her current condition is unknown at this time.

South Central Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
