Picnic marks saved trees

A PICNIC was due to take place today to celebrate a victory that saw a plan to cut down 50 trees scrapped.

The event, organised by Keep Milton Green campaign group, was due to take place at St James’ Hospital, in Locksway Road, Milton.

The campaigners are celebrating their victory after people power forced the Solent NHS Trust to halt plans to cut down trees at the hospital.

Kimberly Barrett said all were welcome at the picnic, from midday until 4pm.
