Organiser Nick Courtney said: ‘It was the most incredible day.

‘The atmosphere was one of the best I’ve ever seen.

‘We expected to have around 10,000 people so to exceed that is fantastic.’

Nick added there were some security worries about the sheer number of people at the bandstand. But he said the security firm had no reports of any incidents.

‘People came down to enjoy the music and it is a credit to the city that no incidents happened,’ said Nick.
