Council to spend £16,000 on celebrating Daedalus' 100th anniversary
Daedalus in Lee-on-the-Solent will mark 100 years since flying began at the site on Saturday, September 16.
Fareham Borough Council is set to spend £16,000 on the day’s celebrations which will include a static display of vintage aircraft, a funfair, bouncy castle, children’s activities, food and side shows.

Hide AdDue to the Shoreham air crash in August 2015, the Civil Aviation Authority has conducted a major review of air shows so the event will not include aerial displays.
Councillors gave their backing for an outline plan for the event at a meeting on Monday.
A report read: ‘Daedalus 100 will be a community event with an aviation theme.’
