County council £6m funding to improve mental health centres

MENTAL health centres will get £6m in funding over the next five years.

The money from Hampshire County Council will support the expansion and development of community-based mental health well-being centres.

Jointly commissioned by the council and Hampshire’s five Clinical Commissioning Groups as part of an £8m contract with the voluntary sector, the centres provide a range of services to support people.

They act as a ‘one-stop shop’ covering employment to housing. People can self refer or are referred by their GP.

Centres are located around the area including Gosport, Fareham and Havant.
