Caroline Dinenage, Gosport MP, admitted more roles would be cut in the coming weeks. Her comments came after chancellor Rishi Sunak launched a new Job Entry Targeted Support scheme to help those who have lost their job due to the pandemic get back into the workplace.
Welcoming the scheme, Ms Dinenage added: ‘I know that government support has already been a lifeline for many of my constituents, with over 11,000 on furlough.
‘But sadly, not every job can be protected as we face the continuing implications of the pandemic.’
