Gosport planning board approves hotel plans

THE extension for a hotel has been given a green light by a planning board.

Premier Inn’s application to build an extra 36 bedrooms at its Gosport site has been approved by the regulatory board at Gosport Borough Council.

Members of the board unanimously agreed the application at their meeting earlier this month.

The council’s economic development had agreed in February to sell the council-owned land next to the hotel off Forest Way to Premier Inn for a lease of £300,000.

Councillor Richard Dickson said: ‘This application is great news. I fully support this and think it is excellent for Gosport.’

The application also includes an extra 36 parking spaces.
