Here's how to have your say on a five-storey park and ride expansion in Portsmouth

Latest concept designs for the Tipner site will be displayed at three events next week with the chance for residents to supply feedback.

Plans for the council-owned service will see the existing 650-space car park extended with an additional 1,000 bays.

Portsmouth City Council's traffic and transport boss, Councillor Lynne Stagg, said: 'The possibility of extending the car park was discussed even before the launch of park and ride and now we are excited to unveil our design concepts with you at these events.

'I encourage everyone to share their views on this very early stage of the planning process.'

It is hoped the expansion of the park and ride will encourage more people to not use their cars in the city centre as part of wider plans to improve air quality in Portsmouth which also include a clean air zone and wind turbines at Portsmouth International Port.

The feedback on the initial concept will then shape final detailed plans before any construction starts.

During this process there will be further consultations to share the plans and seek feedback.

The events will take place at Portsmouth Central Library on February 11 from 10am to 4pm and the Portsmouth park and ride terminal building on February 12 from 7.30am to 11.30am and 4pm to 6.30pm.
