HMS Queen Elizabeth: Wildcat helicopter lands on Royal Navy carrier for the first time during US trip

The helicopter's landing was completed during the Royal Navy carrier's trip to the US for historic flight trials.

Pictures shared by the Royal Navy show the helicopter landing on the deck.

The ship is being joined by HMS Monmouth during the trials as an escort.

It comes after six British sailors were arrested in Florida during a stop-off by the carrier.

Police said that two were tasered for resisting arrest, two were arrested for disorderly intoxication and one was caught trespassing on property.

The carrier is now heading up the east coast of the US, where it conduct more trials and stop off in New York.

HMS Queen Elizabeth is expected to return to her home port of Portsmouth in December, and will become fully operational in 2021.
