Portsmouth MP visits his former childhood stomping ground

PASSIONATE pupils packed with political ambitions welcomed a former student-turned-MP into their school.

Youngsters at Priory School had the chance to meet Portsmouth South MP Stephen Morgan, who as a boy attended the Fawcett Road institution in Southsea.

During Mr Morgan’s trip, he urged pupils to ‘dream big’ and spoke of his time as Priory’s deputy head boy as a lad – something he said sparked his own political ambitions.

The visit was part of the school’s new Alumni programme for ‘Old Priorians’.

Mr Morgan said: ‘As a former and proud Priory School student myself, I was delighted to be able to go back to the school and speak with students, as well as officially launching the alumni programme. It was an honour to be able to discuss with the students their vision for the city and hear how proud they were to be Priory students.’
