Pupil suffers 'medical emergency' at Portsmouth secondary school

A PUPIL suffered a ‘medical emergency’ at a school in Portsmouth city centre.

Police and ambulance crews, including a Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance critical care car, attended the school in Hyde Park Road, Portsmouth, at 2pm.

An eyewitness passing the school, which has an entrance in Isambard Brunel Road, said: ‘There was an ambulance with flashing lights attending the scene.

‘Lots of people looked very concerned.

The school confirmed a boy required medical attention, with police assisting medical staff.

A spokeswoman from the school said: ‘It is not a police matter, the police were just over the road and the incident occurred at the front of the school.’

The emergency services have now left the school.
