Rally cry for Portsmouth to back fundraiser for cancer-hit mum

PORTSMOUTH is being called to rally to join an event raising cash for a terminally-ill mum from the city.

Tonight will see the Hampshire Skinhead Association staging an evening of live music in Fratton in aid of cancer-suffer Kaz Dean.

The group hope the night’s action will help to pay for treatment for Kaz.

The event kicks off from 9pm, with a live band performing at the Froddington Arms in Fratton Road – where Kaz’s daughters Coral and Natasha work.

Keith Thripp, of the HSA, is helping organise the show and hopes as many people will turn up to show their support.

He said: ‘We’re trying to put a smile on Kaz’s face.

‘As part of the HSA, we’re trying to get over the point that we’re not all horrible thugs and that we are people that actually care for the local community.

‘This is just one of the many things that we try to do for charities and good causes.’

A DJ set will begin at the pub from 7pm, with live music from local ska band The All Stars from 9pm to 10.30pm.

There will also be a raffle, with prominent Pompey supporter John Westwood attending as the guest of honour.
