Scenes of Portsmouth life when Victoria was on the throne
We end the current series of Martin Snape pictures with four more he made in Portsmouth at the turn of the last century.
Although born in Gosport (1852), much of his work was of scenes in Portsmouth and around the fringes of Portsmouth Harbour.
Snape died in 1930 and one of his most famous paintings, Forton Creek, which is one of a series, hangs in the town hall at Gosport.
Snape exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1874 and 1901.
