Scouts get Co-op cheque

A SCOUT group gathered to receive a check from the Co-op as part of the firm's scheme to give to local causes.

Scouts, Beavers and Cubs from the 2nd Stubbington (Holy Rood) Scout Group met atÂ the Stubbington branch of the Co-op to receive a cheque for Â£3,739 from staff.

Group Scout leader Brian Graham said: '˜We are really thankful to the Stubbington Co-op and the people of Stubbington for giving us this generous donation.

'˜We will be using it to install a new heating system in our hall '“ just in time for winter.

'˜We have 70 young people we provide activities for every week but we are short of leaders andÂ helpers. With more we could allow more young people to participate.'
