Short-listed makers' work shown

EMERGING craft makers from across the UK will have their work championed in a group exhibition thanks to an international open-call launched earlier this year.

Aspex gallery at Gunwharf Quays and Making Space, Havant, teamed up and put together a panel of judges for Craft Emergency 2016, in order to select the 11 makers whose work will be displayed.

Those involved in the decision-making were: Annabelle Campbell, head of exhibitions and collections at the Crafts Council; Lynne Dick, director at Making Space; Thomas Appleton, letter-carver and stonemason, and Joanne Bushnell, director of Aspex.

From the short list of makers, one will be selected to receive the prize of a solo presentation of new work at Aspex in 2018.

The exhibition opens on Friday, November 25, and will run until January next year.
