Street collection raises animal rescue funds

A STREET collection in Gosport has raised almost £75 for a group campaigning for animal rights across the world.

On Saturday, November 17, a street collection was held for Animal Defenders International in the town.

The collector on the day, Pauline Dibley, raised £73.50.

Animal Defenders International works to protect animals in entertainment and research by lobbying for legislative change, public awareness campaigns and implements worldwide rescue and rehoming programmes.

The group has thanked the people of Gosport for their support of their campaign '“ which currently includes rescuing circus animals in Guatemala.
