They've made the cut! Here's our Hair and Beauty Awards shortlist...

This year has been the biggest and the best year for entries in the awards’ six-year history.

Excitement is building ahead of the ceremony on Saturday, July 2, at which the winners of 14 categories will be announced.

Long-awaited tickets for the night, which will see a three-course meal, awards ceremony and party take place at the Portsmouth Guildhall, will go on sale on Monday.

Liz Parker, events co-ordinator, said: ‘We have been overwhelmed by the response to this year’s awards. Not only do we have some excellent sponsors on board, the night is looking to be the best yet.

‘There’s a real buzz and excitement and I can’t wait to see everyone on the night in their glad rags, really partying and celebrating the best of the industry.’

A panel of expert judges will now be deliberating over the submitted entries before revealing the winners on the night.

The revamped Readers’ Choice category saw hundreds of people put forward their favourite salons across the area.

The top 11 will be uploaded to Facebook today and the one with the most likes by Friday, June 24 will be crowned winner on the night.

Search ‘The News, Portsmouth’, then like the page and then like the picture of your favourite salon to register your vote.

Tickets for the ceremony are £60, including a three-course meal and reception drink.
