Councillor Sean Woodward, leader of Fareham Borough Council is hopeful the project will get the green light.

Cllr Woodward said: ‘We have done everything we need to do to have our bid accepted.

‘We have the planning permission and have gained £8m funding – that is exactly what the chancellor requires.’
