Children can meet emergency services

YOUNGSTERS will get the chance to meet brave emergency services staff at a 999 day.

Paramedics, police officers and firefighters will be in Fareham town centre tomorrow where they will be talking about fire safety, doing CPR demonstrations and showcasing their emergency vehicles.

There will also be funfair rides and face painting.

Councillor Sue Bell said: ‘Many children are fascinated by the emergency services and blue lights, so this 999 day event is a great opportunity for them to find out more about the important work they do.

‘It may even inspire some children to consider a career as a paramedic or a police officer.’

The event runs from 9am until 4pm. For more information go to fareham.gov.uk/leisure.
