Families enjoying their half-term break at the park had to get off the ‘small number’ of rides which park administrators said were affected.

The park’s commercial director, Stephen Lorton, said staff were working to fix the problem, and the park had stayed open.

Mr Lorton said: ‘At approximately 2.30pm this afternoon, we experienced a minor electrical issue that affected only localised areas of the Park.

‘This resulted in a small number of rides to stop running. All guests exited the stationary rides quickly and safely.

‘Our staff are working hard to restore normal operations.

‘The park remains fully open with exception of the affected areas which include Critter Creek and adjacent rides.

‘As soon as all rides are operational we will update our website.’
