Family pays tribute to 27-year-old man who died following M27 collision

EMOTIONAL tributes have been paid to a 27-year-old who died following a collision on the M27.

Luke Shaw, 20, ‘was loved by many’ according to tributes from his mother and father.

Mr Shaw, of Carey Road, Bitterne. Southampton, died at Queen Alexandra Hospitai in Cosham as a result of his injuries on Wednesday, June 29.

He was involved in the collision as a backseat passenger of a blue Vauxhall Corsa which was travelling eastbound between Fareham and Portsmouth at around 11.15pm on Sunday, June 26.

His mum, Tracey Pearce said: ‘Luke was a son, a brother and an uncle. He was loved by so many.

‘Although Luke may not be with us in person anymore, he will always remain in our memories and most importantly our hearts.

‘Since passing, a light has gone out in all our lives.’

His dad, Gary Shaw added: ‘Luke was not only my son, he was my best friend.

‘I am so proud of the man he had become and all he achieved, particularly in his job at Kwik Fit where he was extremely respected, loved and valued.’

Two other men in the car, a 20-year-old and a 19-year-old were also taken to hospital but were discharged.
