Lane closure remains on A27 between Chichester and Emsworth after severe flooding caused by downpours

Lane closures remain in place on the A27 as a result of severe flooding caused by downpours

Earlier this morning is hefty congestion and six miles of traffic on the A27, with delays increasing due to a crash this morning (January 27) which has left a lane closed eastbound between Emsworth and Chichester. This was also made worse by flooding in the area.

As we head into the evening rush hour the lane closure remains in place while the flood water clears.

National Highways South East wrote on X, saying: “Lane 1 (of 2) remains closed on the #A27 eastbound between the #A259 west (#Emsworth) and #A259 east (#Chichester) following an earlier collision and flooding in the area. There are 40 min delays above normal travel time with 6 miles congestion on approach.
