Hampshire motorway blocked after crash

The accident happened between junctions 8 and 9 on the southbound M3, near to Winchester services.

Reports said two cras were involved.

Police said the southbound carriageway had been closed as emergency services dealt with the incident, which happened around 7am.

Romanse traffic managers said queues were also building up on the northbound carriageway.

Traffic was diverted onto the A303 westbound and the A34 southbound at junction 8, to re-join the M3 at junction 9.

It was expected that the section of the motorway would stay closed during the morning.
